What a smile makeover actually is

A smile makeover is a plan, not a single procedure. Treat each problem in isolation and the results fight each other: a whitening shade that clashes with a veneer, a crown that doesn't match its neighbors. Planning them together, as one case, keeps color, shape, and bite consistent.

The treatments drawn on depend entirely on the mouth, across the full range of our cosmetic dentistry. A makeover might combine whitening with a few veneers, use bonding to refine an edge, add a crown where a tooth is both damaged and unsightly, or include replacing a missing tooth so the smile is complete. The point is that the pieces are chosen and sequenced as a whole.

Who it is for

A smile makeover suits people who have several concerns at once, or one concern that will take more than a single treatment to fix well: worn and discolored teeth together, a mix of chips and gaps, or old restorations that no longer match teeth that have aged around them.

You do not need to arrive with a treatment in mind. We start by asking what actually bothers you, and build the plan around that.

Often two or three changes do the job

The phrase "smile makeover" can sound like it means redoing every tooth. It usually does not. More often, two or three well-chosen changes address what you actually notice, and the rest is not worth your money. Part of the plan is telling you which changes carry the result and which ones you can skip. We would rather do less and keep more of your natural teeth than sell you a fuller treatment you do not need.

Where a simpler path reaches the same result, we take it. If whitening and one veneer do what you want, we do not talk you into ten. If your concern is really crooked teeth better solved by orthodontics, we will say so and refer you to an orthodontist we work with, since we do not offer Invisalign or clear aligners.

The process and timeline

1. We ask what bothers you. The plan is built around your concern rather than a standard checklist.
2. We examine and gather records. Digital X-rays, an intraoral scan for digital impressions, and photographs let us see the teeth, the bite, and how a change to one tooth affects the others.
3. We plan the whole sequence with you. You see which treatments are proposed, in what order, over how many visits, and what each costs, before anything begins. Because whitening cannot lighten restorations, it is scheduled first, so veneers, crowns, and bonding can be matched to the final shade.
4. We carry out the plan in order. Each step is checked against the plan and against your bite as we go.
