Meet Dr. Kathia Steel, DDS, MS, FACP
Dr. Kathia Steel is a board-certified prosthodontist in Preston Center, Dallas — the dental specialist devoted to restoring and replacing teeth. For a decade she served on the Oral Surgery faculty at UT Southwestern Medical Center, restoring the region's most complex reconstruction cases.
A decade at UT Southwestern
From 2002 to 2012, Dr. Steel served as a full-time faculty prosthodontist and Assistant Professor in the Oral Surgery department at UT Southwestern Medical Center, restoring the region's major trauma and reconstruction cases — UT Southwestern is Dallas's trauma referral center and the training ground for oral surgeons. That decade of complex, referred work, alongside surgeons, is the foundation of how she plans and restores cases today.

How implant care works here
Dr. Steel plans each implant case and builds the final teeth; the surgical placement is done by a specialist partner — a periodontist or oral surgeon in the immediate area. Both phases follow one shared plan. She is trained in the full arc of implant care and has placed implants herself, and her decade inside UT Southwestern's Oral Surgery department is why she coordinates placement this way.
