Visiting the practice

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. The practice welcomes new patients age 12 and up, by appointment. Request an appointment or call (214) 369-9000, and the office will call you back to schedule.

Do I need a referral to see a prosthodontist?

You can come to us directly for any service, from a cleaning to an implant consultation. Many patients are referred by a general dentist for a specific problem; many others make their own appointment. What a prosthodontist is, and when to see one.

What ages does the practice see?

The practice sees patients 12 and up, for everything from routine cleanings to complex restorative work. A child under 12 is better served by a pediatric dentist, and the office is glad to recommend one. More on who the practice sees.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. English and Spanish are both spoken in the office.

Where are you, and is there parking?

The practice is in Preston Center at 8117 Preston Rd #170, Dallas, TX 75225, with a free garage and a free on-site lot. The entrance, restroom, and parking are wheelchair-accessible. Directions and details.

Can I be seen the same day for a dental emergency?

Often, yes. The office does everything it can to fit urgent problems in the same day; call (214) 369-9000 early in the day. For a severe injury or bleeding that won't stop, go to the nearest emergency department first, then follow up with the office. What to expect as an urgent patient.

Costs and insurance

Do you take my insurance?

The practice is out-of-network and files your claims for you, so you are reimbursed according to your plan. Many patients with dental benefits use them here. Full details on insurance and payment.

How can I pay for treatment?

The office accepts CareCredit, HSA and FSA funds, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, checks, and cash. Cost is reviewed with you before treatment begins. More on financing and payment.

How much will my treatment cost?

The practice quotes a fee after an exam, because the work depends on what your mouth actually needs. Dr. Steel goes over the plan and the fees with you before anything starts, including when a simpler, less expensive option will serve you. More on payment.

Dental implants

Does Dr. Steel place the implant herself?

Dr. Steel plans your implant case and builds the final teeth as a board-certified prosthodontist; a trusted surgical specialist in the immediate area places the implant. She is trained in the full arc of implant care and chooses specialist placement. How implant treatment works here.

Do you offer same-day implants or “teeth in a day”?

Implant care here is a planned sequence, with a healing period while the implant integrates with the bone before the final teeth go on. For that reason the practice does not place and load implants the same day. The implant process, step by step.

Can implants replace my dentures?

Yes. An implant-supported denture snaps onto a few implants so it stays put, and a full-arch option replaces an entire upper or lower set. Placement is co-managed with a surgical specialist while Dr. Steel plans and restores. Dentures · All-on-4.

Dentures and repairs

My denture is loose. Can you help?

Usually, yes. Gums and bone change shape over time, which loosens a denture that once fit. A reline refits the base, and in some cases anchoring to implants is the better long-term fix. When dentures come loose.

A crown came off or my denture broke. What should I do?

One of my teeth cracked. Is that urgent?

Everyday care

Do you see patients just for cleanings and checkups?

Yes, and many patients do exactly that. This is a full general-dentistry home, not only a specialist referral office; routine hygiene, exams, and fillings are the core of what happens here. General dentistry in Preston Center.

Do you do root canals?

Root canals are referred to trusted endodontists, the specialists in that procedure. Dr. Steel diagnoses the problem, arranges the referral, and restores the tooth with a filling or crown afterward, so your care comes back to one place.

Do you offer Invisalign or clear aligners?

For patients who need their teeth straightened, Dr. Steel refers to trusted orthodontists in her network. Clear aligners are not a service the practice provides in-office. She restores and rebuilds teeth; alignment is its own specialty.
